Where Were These When I Was A Kid??

We had a discussion at work recently about the cool video shopping carts at a grocery store my family and I shop at occasionally. Some of my coworkers had never seen them before, and frankly, I don't think they believed me. So, when I was there this past Sunday, I decided to take a picture of them for proof. This first picture shows the three of them lined up. Kids can pick the one they want to watch, and for just $1, they can watch cartoons while the parents finish their grocery shopping. Their choices are Barney, Dora, and Thomas the Train.

This second pictures shows the inside, complete with color video screen. This is a long way from us generation x-ers having to simply ride in the front of the grocery cart, legs dangling, with a seat as hard as a rock!!! I wasn't even allowed to hang on the side of the cart. Even if that was the cool way to grocery shop with your parents, that was too dangerous.

The doors lock to keep the kids from falling out, and you can keep the grocery cart for as long as it takes for you to finish your shopping. From what I understand, you have 5 minutes after checking out to return the unit. After that 5 minutes, the brake locks up on it, and you cannot push it anymore. Yeah, its a small pain to carry all of the groceries to the car (or transfer them to another cart), but the peace and quiet during the shopping process is priceless!!

Have You Seen This??

From Wikipedia: "A tornado caused widespread damage across downtown Atlanta, including to the CNN Center and to the Georgia Dome, where the 2008 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament was postponed. Other buildings that were damaged include the Georgia World Congress Center, Philips Arena (during an Atlanta Hawks game), and the Omni Hotel, which was evacuated after many windows were blown out. Centennial Olympic Park and historic Oakland Cemetery were also damaged. One man was killed near downtown Atlanta." Here's an awesome picture of the storm (huge dark cloud on the left - just to the rightof the Bank of America building).

Where's JP???

JP never goes to lunch with us ... however, I can't say that anymore. Today he finally decided to go to KC Pitt Bar-B-Que with us (he likes Bar-B-Que). We've actually had it planned since last week, but that got cancelled because of a company all-hands luncheon. We tried going again this past Tuesday, but he couldn't go that particular day. Therefore, we decided to go today ... want to see the picture??

Guitar Hero III

Yeah, I know what you're saying ... "Man, nothing for two months, and now two posts in less than two weeks"!!! I just had to tell everyone that I finally played Guitar Hero for the first time. I played yesterday at my brother-in-law's place while we were over there celebrating St. Patrick's day and eating Cornned beef and Cabbage (which was VERY YUMMY I might add). The Guitar Hero game was very addicting, and I might have to purchase one for my own Wii system!!! Now I know what the buzz is all about!! Okay Killa Weekendz (recently renamed to the Cobbage Patch Kids) ... I'm ready for my audition!!!

Smart or Stupid???

I know, I know, it's been awhile since I've posted anything ... sorry. Here's a picture for you to last until I find something better to blog about. It was taken while at the drive in for a local Starbucks (I love my Mocha Frappuccinos!!!). If you look carefully, you'll notice an extension ladder tied to a step ladder. If you can't clearly see it, you can tell the difference in colors. The extension ladder is silver, and the step ladder is green. Hey, it got them up to the roof, so it did it's job!! HA!!
